Sony and Honda have teamed up to create a new electric car brand called Afeela.* While most car companies focus on how fast a car goes or how far it can travel on a single charge, Afeela is focusing on what happens inside the car. They are calling the interior an AI-powered living space.
Think of this car like a smart butler who knows exactly how you like your living room set up. When you walk up to the Afeela, it uses cameras to recognize your face. Before you even sit down, it adjusts the seat, sets the temperature to your favorite level, and pulls up your favorite music. This is all handled by artificial intelligence that learns your habits over time so you do not have to spend time clicking through menus.
The dashboard is one giant screen that stretches from one side of the car to the other. Because Sony is a world leader in entertainment, this car is built for fun. AI helps manage all the movies, games, and music you might want while you are parked or while the car is assisting with the driving. It is almost like having a high-end movie theater that follows you wherever you go.
Safety is another big part of this AI system. The car is covered in dozens of sensors and cameras that act like extra eyes. These sensors talk to the AI to help prevent accidents and keep the car centered in its lane. It is like having a co-pilot who never gets tired, never gets distracted, and can see things that are hard for humans to spot, especially at night.
Afeela is still a few years away from being on the road, but it shows us that the future of driving is about more than just getting from point A to point B. It is about making the journey as comfortable and fun as possible by using AI to take care of the little things.
* Afeela was unfortunately canceled as a concept in March of 2026, but the technology that would make this possible still has many exciting applications!
I would love to hear your thoughts. How are you using AI to make your daily life or your commute easier? Please share your comments, suggestions, and input on ways you are using AI tools.
