Have you ever been in the middle of a project, like gardening or cooking, and realized you needed a quick answer to a question? Usually, this means stopping what you are doing, wiping off your hands, and typing a query into a tiny search bar. It feels like a lot of work just to find out if a specific plant needs direct sunlight or how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon.
There is a new tool called Arc Search that makes this much simpler. It has a feature called Call Arc, and it is designed for people who would rather just talk than type.
Think of it like having a very smart friend who is always available for a quick phone call. Instead of looking at your screen and tapping away, you simply open the app and lift your phone to your ear. The motion is exactly the same as if you were answering a call from a family member. Once the phone is at your ear, you just ask your question out loud.
For example, you could say, "How do I get a red wine stain out of a white rug?" or "What is the best way to ripen an avocado quickly?"
As soon as you finish speaking, the app goes to work. It searches the internet for you, reads through the best results, and then speaks the answer back to you through the earpiece. You don't have to scroll through dozens of websites or click on annoying ads. You just listen to the answer, put your phone back in your pocket, and get back to what you were doing.
This is a great option for anyone who finds modern smartphones a bit overwhelming or clunky. It feels natural because we have been holding phones to our ears for decades. It also keeps your business private, since you aren't shouting at a speaker for everyone in the room to hear; you are just having a quiet "conversation" with your phone.
The best part is that you don't need to learn any complicated commands. You don't have to say "Hey" to get its attention or use specific computer language. You just talk like a regular person.
I would love to hear from you about this. Does the idea of "calling" the internet make searching feel more approachable? Let me know your thoughts, or share any other ways you have been using AI tools to make your life a little easier!
